Hello and welcome.


My name is jamie fox and I am a qualified quantity surveyor, with over 8 years experience on quantity surveying and how to do things such as measurements of quantities and bills of quantities.

I have worked on
Marine projects
Roadwork projects
supermarket refurbishments
Academy projects
school projects
Housing projects
and local community projects

I have worked with many different companies and people along the way

I have a wealth of experience in surveying and have many people that are able to help me with not just quantity surveying issues and projects and engineering solutions that all contribute to a quantity surveyor's job, thanks to the wide range of people that I have worked with during my career


Through this page I will talk/write about how to get started in quantity surveying what type of college and university courses to consider and finally the ultimate goal (Well for me anyway) how to make a good career from quantity surveying and how to become a fully registered quantity surveyor (Which I am in the process of doing)with the RICS (Royal institue of chartered surveyors)

On this site you will see many things on how to do things, to how to apply for jobs, the right things to say and learn for interviews, how using the internet can help you gain experience and very useful information.

I have even asked other surveyors to write a piece on their job and how they became a quantity surveyor, as well as that I have asked other people such as site agents and site managers and financial directors to write down some information on what they use quanaity surveyors for and how they view our job as individuals and more importantly how a quantity surveyor (no matter how big or small the project maybe)is always part of a team.

I will write about how to use that teamwork to your advantage and how information that is feed to you from the team will help you translate it into good profit both for your company and for the company you may work for
